Dehydration Station

We just got a food dehydrator. Our house has been operating at a low hum for the past 48 hours and we've been enjoying fruit roll-ups (strawberry-banana, apple-grape, and my personal favorite -- cherry) and dried pineapple. Next to come are dehydrated full meals, like chili and pasta.

Jason is about to embark on a long hiking and camping trip along The Long Trail through Vermont. He's decided to take along a lot of dehydrated food so that he'll have variety throughout the month he's gone. It'll surely be an interesting experiment.

Jill and Jason, It was great to see the update on your blog. The whale watching and aquarium looked like a lot of fun. We hope Jason has good weather to hike. The dehydrator will definitely cut down on food weight. If the rest of your garden does as well as the green beans, your meals will be full of nutrition. Keep your updates coming. Love, Aunt Ginny and Gram
